Direct answers

Who is Orlie John Deferia?
Orlie John Deferia is a TikTok Shop operations manager, affiliate manager and app developer based in Cebu, Philippines. He runs TikTok Shops day to day, manages creator affiliate programs, and builds apps on the TikTok Shop Open Platform API for US brands and agencies.
What does a TikTok Shop operations manager do?
Runs the shop day to day in Seller Center: product listings, pricing, inventory, promotions such as flash deals and vouchers, account health and violations, order issues, and a weekly report the brand can act on. Orlie also writes the SOPs so the work does not depend on one person's memory.
What does a TikTok Shop affiliate manager do?
Runs the creator program: finds creators who can sell the product, sends target-collaboration offers, approves and ships free samples, follows up until the video is posted, ties orders back to creators, and pays tiered commission on time. Orlie reports on creator performance every month.
What does a TikTok Shop app developer do?
Writes software that connects to a TikTok Shop through the Open Platform API and does repeated work automatically: pulling in orders, tracking creators and commission, approving sample requests and reporting. Orlie builds creator and affiliate CRMs, sample-request systems, commission engines, order dashboards, browser extensions and self-hosted automation agents.
What is his TikTok Shop experience?
He has worked on TikTok Shop since April 2023. He was Affiliate Manager at Sun and Sky Entertainment, a TikTok Shop Partner Center agency (June 2024 to May 2025), where the program produced $222,356 in affiliate GMV and 9,000+ affiliate orders in one 31-day period. Before that he was Operations Manager for a multi-shop US TikTok seller. He now runs TikTok Shop operations across a 30+ brand portfolio.
Why hire one person for all three?
Because the person running the shop sees which jobs repeat every day, and the same person can then write the software that removes them. There is no hand-off between an operator, an affiliate manager and a developer who have never met.
Which parts of the TikTok Shop API does he work with?
Authorization, Product, Order, Fulfilment, Affiliate and Creator, Finance, Webhooks, and the Sandbox environment for safe testing before go-live.
Is he an official TikTok Shop partner?
No. He is an independent operator and developer. He has worked inside TikTok Shop Partner Center at a partner agency, and he builds on the public TikTok Shop Open Platform API, but he does not hold a partner or certification badge himself.
Where is he based and does he work remotely?
He is based in Cebu, Philippines (UTC+8) and works remotely with US brands and agencies, including US business hours.
How do you hire him?
Email orliejohndeferia@gmail.com. Say which role you need: operations, affiliates, an app, or a mix. Say what your shop does today. He replies with what he would take on first.

What I do: TikTok Shop operations, affiliate management and app development

Orlie John Deferia is a TikTok Shop operations manager, affiliate manager and app developer based in Cebu, Philippines. This is the full picture: what each role covers, the results, the tools, the work history and how to hire him.

written for:Brand foundersHiring managersAgencies

My name is Orlie John Deferia. I am a TikTok Shop operations manager, a TikTok Shop affiliate manager and a TikTok Shop app developer, based in Cebu, Philippines. I have worked on TikTok Shop since April 2023 and in e-commerce since 2020, and I work remotely with US brands and agencies, on US hours.

This page is the full picture: what each role covers, what it has produced, the tools I use, where I have done the work, and how to hire me.

1. TikTok Shop operations manager

Operations is the job that keeps a shop selling. Most of it is invisible until something breaks.

What I own:

  • Product listings, variants and pricing
  • Inventory and stock levels, with early warnings to suppliers
  • Promotions: flash deals, vouchers and TikTok Shop campaign sign-ups
  • Account health: violations, warnings, appeals, late-shipment and cancellation rates
  • Order issues, returns, fulfilment follow-up and customer messages
  • Supplier contact, often with China-based suppliers: stock, terms and quality
  • New-brand onboarding and shop setup

What the brand gets: a one-page weekly report — what moved, what broke, and what I fix next — plus written SOPs, so the work does not live in one person's head.

Results from my own work:

  • Operations across a portfolio of 30+ brands in my current work
  • One shop scaled to $100,595 in GMV in 28 days at a Partner Center agency
  • 5- to 6-figure monthly GMV per shop as Operations Manager for a multi-shop US TikTok seller

I wrote up the weekly routine in detail in What a TikTok Shop operations manager actually does every week.

2. TikTok Shop affiliate manager

On TikTok Shop, creators are the sales team. The affiliate manager's job is to find the right ones, get them the product, get the video posted and pay them what was promised. I run it in six stages:

  1. Find — creators who already sell in the category
  2. Invite — a target-collaboration offer with a clear commission
  3. Sample — approve, ship and track the free product
  4. Post — follow up until the video is live
  5. Sell — tie each order back to the creator who drove it
  6. Pay — tiered commission, on time

Results from my own work:

ResultWhere
$222,356 affiliate GMV in 31 daysPartner Center agency, May 2025
9,000+ affiliate orders in 31 daysSame program, same month
1,000+ creators in the affiliate networkPartner Center agency
8,900+ creators reached in recruiting campaignsUsing Euka and Reacher
200+ creators in one Discord communityPartner Center agency
200+ targeted campaigns, 2,000+ seller-led campaignsPartner Center agency
10,000+ free samples coordinatedCurrent work, 30+ brands

My honest take: the stage that decides whether a program makes money is stage 4. The most expensive creator is the one who took the free sample and never posted. The full method is in How I run a TikTok Shop affiliate program.

3. TikTok Shop app developer

I write software because I run the shops. When a task shows up every week, takes real time and needs no judgement, I build a tool for it.

Tools I have built:

  • Affiliate Manager Chrome extension — pulls affiliate data and tracks creator relationships and campaigns; rebuilt through five major versions
  • TikTok Shop review exporter — exports Seller Center product reviews to CSV or JSON with images, incrementally, across US, UK and EU regions
  • TikTok video metrics collector — reads views, likes, comments and shares for 1,000+ public video links for weekly reporting
  • Creator CRM and sample-request flow — one screen per creator, with samples from request to courier and orders tied back to creators
  • A/B-testing dashboard — two versions of a listing or campaign compared at a glance
  • Self-hosted automation agents — scheduled jobs that run on a cloud server

For anything that touches a shop at scale, I build on the TikTok Shop Open Platform API: Authorization, Product, Order, Fulfilment, Affiliate and Creator, Finance, Webhooks and the Sandbox. The shop owner approves the connection once and can switch it off at any time. More on this in What to automate in a TikTok Shop first.

Why one person for all three roles

Most teams hire these as three separate people who never talk. The operator sees which jobs repeat, the affiliate manager sees where creators drop off, and the developer builds whatever the ticket says.

When one person does all three, the loop is short: I run the shop, I see the job that eats the day, I build the tool, and I go back to running the shop with fewer of those jobs. There is no hand-off and nothing lost in translation.

  • Written down. A weekly report and SOPs for every repeated fix.
  • Honest about fit. If software will not fix the problem, or you do not need me, I say so.

What I am not

I am not an official TikTok Shop partner and I do not hold a TikTok certification. I have worked inside Partner Center at a partner agency, and I build on the public TikTok Shop Open Platform API as an independent developer. Current employers stay private; past employers are named above.
