Who publishes TabVault

TabVault is built and published by Orlie John Deferia, an independent software developer in Cebu, Philippines. There is no company behind it, no investor, and no third party with access to it.

What TabVault stores

TabVault saves a small record of the tabs you ask it to save. That record is written to chrome.storage.local, which is browser storage on the computer you are using. It contains:

• the page title and address (URL) of each tab you save
• the name and date of each saved session
• your own settings: the idle timer, the skip rules, and your list of sites to never touch

That is the whole list. TabVault does not read, copy, or store the contents of any page. It does not read form fields, passwords, cookies, or page text. It does not track which sites you visit, and it keeps no history beyond the sessions you explicitly saved.

Where the data goes

Nowhere. TabVault has no server, no account, and no sign-in. There is no network code anywhere in the extension: no fetch call, no XMLHttpRequest, and no remotely loaded script. Nothing you save is transmitted off your device, including to me.

Because of that, TabVault also has:

• no analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
• no advertising and no advertising identifiers
• no third-party services, SDKs, or trackers of any kind
• no cloud sync and no backup that leaves the machine

I never see your data, so I cannot sell it, share it, or transfer it. TabVault is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending, and its data is never used for any purpose unrelated to managing your tabs.

Why TabVault asks for each permission

• tabs: read the title and address of your open tabs, so a tab can be put to sleep or saved.
• storage, unlimitedStorage: keep your saved sessions and settings on your own device. A large vault would exceed the standard quota, so nothing gets silently dropped.
• alarms: run the idle timer that decides when a tab has gone quiet.
• downloads: write the export file to your computer when you choose to export or back up.
• notifications: tell you which tabs were slept or saved.
• contextMenus: add the right-click action for saving a single tab.
• offscreen: do vault work in a background document so a long operation survives the service worker shutting down.
• Access to the pages you visit: putting a tab to sleep while leaving it open requires a small script inside that tab. You decide which sites that applies to, and you can exclude any site in the options page. The script only reports whether the tab is idle. It does not read the page.

What you control

• Export. Download your whole vault as a JSON file at any time, from the vault page.
• Delete. Remove any single item or any whole session from the vault page. Removing the extension from your browser deletes all of its stored data.
• Exclude sites. Add any host to the never-touch list in the options page. Pinned tabs, tabs playing audio, and tabs with unsaved form input are skipped by default.

Children

TabVault is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it collects no information at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of TabVault ever needs to send data anywhere, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the extension's listing. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
