TikTok Shop now gives default scores for single-order Pre-owned products under non-Pre-owned shops: 4.4 when return or negative feedback is 0%, 2.5 when it is 100%. Product and Customer Service appeals opened October 16. Logistics appeals start October 19 and reach all sellers by October 26.

What changed

  • Pre-owned products under shops that are not Pre-owned now have default quality scores: 4.4 if NRR/NBFR is 0%, and 2.5 if NRR/NBFR is 100%.
  • Pre-owned products with more than one order are scored normally.
  • Sellers whose shop calculation category is Pre-owned stay on shop-level scoring with a 90-day window for NRR and NBFR.
  • Product Satisfaction and Customer Service metric appeals are available from October 16.
  • Logistics and Fulfillment metric appeals open in batches from October 19, with all sellers having access by October 26.

  • Wait for Logistics and Fulfillment appeals to open for your account between October 19 and October 26.
  • Review your Pre-owned product orders to see if they fall under the one-product-one-order default score rule.

My honest take: the new default scores for single-order Pre-owned items make it easier to predict your score, but 2.5 at 100% negative feedback is harsh. The appeal dates are concrete, so set reminders for October 19 if you need logistics appeals. If you sell Pre-owned under a regular shop, check which products get the default score.

orliejohn.com is a free TikTok Shop learning hub for sellers. It has animated Seller Center tutorials, daily TikTok Shop news in plain English, how-to guides, honest X vs Y comparisons, e-commerce basics, strategy, and free calculators and checklists. I am Orlie John Deferia and I write it.
Is it free?
Yes. Every tutorial, guide, news post and tool is free, with no signup. The AI generators have a small free allowance per visitor because each one costs real money to run.
Are there ads or sponsored posts?
No. There are no ads, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links. Nobody pays to be mentioned or ranked here, so a comparison only says what I think is true. The one thing I promote is Creatorly, a Chrome extension I built myself. It is always labeled as mine and never appears inside a guide or comparison.
How do you make sure the information is true?
Fees, rates and rules change often, so I do not guess them: I link TikTok Shop's own Seller University page instead. News posts are checked against the TikTok source they link, and every number in them has to appear in that source. Any other number is counted from real order files or marked as an example. Every page shows its date, and when something is wrong I fix it and update the date.
