How to add answers to your TikTok Shop chat Knowledge base

To add chat answers on TikTok Shop, click Customer messages in the Seller Center top bar, open Chatbot under AI tools, then click Knowledge base. Browse the tabs All, Pre-purchase, Logistics, After-sales and Other, search your content, check the Display switch on each row, then click Add new FAQ to write a question and answer.

01In the top bar, click Customer messages to open Shop Chat.
02In the left menu, under Chatbot, click Knowledge base.
03Use the tabs to sort your answers: Pre-purchase, Logistics, After-sales and Other. All shows everything.
04Type a word in Search content to see if you already answer that question.Example: refund
05Each row has a Type, a Question and an Answer. Read them like a buyer would.
06The Display switch on each row decides whether that answer is shown. Switch off answers that are out of date.
07Click Add new FAQ to write your own question and answer. Use your real policy, in plain words.

My tips

Answer the questions you get most often first: shipping time, returns, what is in the box.
Keep each answer short and the same as your product page and return policy.
Switch off Display for any answer about a sale or a rule that has ended.
Read a few real chats each week and add the questions the bot missed.

Is it free?

Yes. Every tutorial, guide, news post and tool is free, with no signup. The AI generators have a small free allowance per visitor because each one costs real money to run.

Are there ads or sponsored posts?

No. There are no ads, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links. Nobody pays to be mentioned or ranked here, so a comparison only says what I think is true.

How do you make sure the information is true?

Fees, rates and rules change often, so I do not guess them: I link TikTok Shop's own Seller University page instead. News posts are checked against the TikTok source they link, and every number in them has to appear in that source. Any other number is counted from real order files or marked as an example. Every page shows its date, and when something is wrong I fix it and update the date.
